Platinum Partnership

Hodge Hill Girls’ School is a Platinum Partner School which means we work with staff, pupils and parents.

Our focus has been on embedding growth mindset and resilience, improving aspirations and equipping students with effective metacognition skills through a series of interactive workshop events.

Our tailored plan for them supports approximately 50 Pupil Premium Students in each year group from Year 7 through to Year 11, as well as their KS3 and KS4 high achievers. We also work with staff so that they are able to further embed the strategies we teach by using them in every day classroom practice, and we have a big focus on working with parents through several events designed to improve the way parents support their child at home.

This forms part of a whole-school approach in which communication is vital. By working together effectively we have been able to raise achievement and inspire a love of learning

“Really pleased with what Learning Performance is able to offer; we regularly move the goalposts – put in different requests for workshops, change groupings of students etc. to suit school and pupil-need – and we always have a positive experience.”

Case Study Questions 2019 -2020

What made you choose to invest your funding and work with Learning Performance?

Positive feedback received previously. Improved P8 for disadvantaged pupils; we believe that the partnership with Learning Performance has been one of a number of strategies which has supported disadvantaged pupil progress.

What sort of impact have the workshops from Learning Performance had? Have you seen a difference in your students?

Positive feedback from the pupils and this has carried on in their attitudes and approach to learning for many of them. Parents have also been very positive following their workshops and we think that this has helped to support parents in working with their daughters at home.

What feedback have you had from other staff members?

Staff members who have been present in the workshops find them useful in terms of their own learning and also reinforcing their own relationships with pupils. Staff present at parents’ workshops have been very positive.

What are your thoughts on the training style of Learning Performance?

Our pupils enjoy working with the trainers and enjoy the interactive nature of the workshops.

How easy are Learning Performance to work with? Do they feel they work well with you?

Absolutely brilliant; very flexible and incredibly well-organised.

Any other comments

Really pleased with what Learning Performance is able to offer; we regularly move the goalposts – put in different requests for workshops, change groupings of students etc. to suit school and pupil-need – and we always have a positive experience. We try all sorts of different strategies and it is impossible to put impact down to one specific intervention, but we do feel that the partnership with Learning Performance is undoubtedly positively supporting our work with our pupils.
